Barista Course

Objective

To equip participants with the essential skills and knowledge required to work as a barista in a café or hospitality setting. The course focuses on food safety, coffee-making techniques, and hands-on experience to build both confidence and employability.

Setting

The course takes place in a supportive and inclusive environment, with practical sessions led by experienced trainers. Participants will learn in both classroom-style sessions and real café environments to ensure a well-rounded experience.

Timeline

This is a 4-week course (16 hours total), broken down into weekly sessions:

  • Week 1: General Food Safety Course (4 hrs)
  • Week 2: Introduction to Barista Training (4 hrs)
  • Week 3: Barista Course (4 hrs)
  • Week 4: Onsite Job Training (4 hrs)


Additional Information

  • The course will be billed under Capacity Building through NDIS
  • Transport support is available: A support worker can pick you up and return you home after each session (billed separately).
  • Videos, photos, and resources will be provided for continued learning
